Solid quarter for Chile-firm in Oslo

The salmon farming firm Salmones Camanchaca in Chile published its first quarterly results of the year on the Oslo Stock Exchange (Oslo Børs) 

this week.  The income was 80,6 million dollars, up by 56% from the first quarter last year. 

Salmones Camanchaca joined Oslo Børs in February, the first salmon firm from Chile to do so. A report on the website 24.no says that other salmon firms in Chile want to follow Camanchaca and register on Oslo Børs which is the largest seafood exchange in the world.

Camanchaca share price in February was 42 NOK but has gone up by 31% since then to 55 NOK per share. According to analysis from the market firm Kontali the production of salmon in Chile will be around 606.000t this year, up for 579.000t last year.
